In the second instance of coaching changes at a Betway Premiership club this week, Marumo Gallants have announced a parting of ways with head coach Phuti Mohafe and his assistant Musa Bilankulu.
The club confirmed the move in a statement issued on Wednesday, following in the footsteps of Siwelele FC, who earlier this week dismissed Lehlohonolo Seema and his assistant Willem Jackson.
“Marumo Gallants F.C. confirms that the Club has parted ways with Head Coach Phuti Mohafe and Assistant Coach Musa Bilankulu, with immediate effect,” read the statement.
Gallants have endured a tough start to the 2026/27 Betway Premiership, failing to win any of their first five matches. They are placed 15th on the log – the relegation playoff berth – with only top-flight rookies Kruger United below them.
Second assistant coach Trevor Mathiane has taken up the reins on an interim basis. He will oversee their next Premiership match, a trip to the Princess Magogo Stadium to face AmaZulu FC on Saturday 12 September.
