Kaze gives insights into Rushwin Dortley’s injury

Kaizer Chiefs coach Cedric Kaze recently expressed that the club’s medical team are making notable strides regarding the fitness of Rushwin Dortley.

Dortley has been out of action since March 2025 with injury, while his place in the national team fold remains in jeopardy ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup later this year.

Chiefs are currently enduring a mini injury crisis in their defence department, after Aden McCarthy limped off during the Soweto giant’s 0-0 draw with Polokwane on Saturday, while Zitha Kwinika has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

However, Kaze revealed that Dortley is close to making a return and is currently doing ball work at Naturena.

“That is the question that will be directed to the medical team,” Kaze told iDiskiTimes, as per GOAL.

“However, last week he started to be with us, to touch the ball.

“I’m pretty sure he is not far from returning.”
