Versatile Orlando Pirates attacker Andre de Jong recently spoke of his delight at joining the PSL giants and outlined major plans for the 2025/26 season.
Pirates have been one of the busiest clubs during the January transfer window, as seen with the purchasing of de Jong, Daniel Msendami and Mpho Chabatsane.
In a bid to land their first league title in some 13 years, de Jong expressed that he is ready to go and potentially aid Pirates to their first league title in some 13 years.
“I am extremely excited to join Orlando Pirates. It’s always tough moving in January, but I am looking forward to getting some games under my belt, and I will try to contribute to the team going forward,” De Jong told Pirates media, as per IOL.
“Playing for Stellenbosch, we have lost a couple of finals to Pirates in the past, so when they showed interest, I was very excited.
“It is a really exciting chapter for me because Pirates have shown so much success over the past few seasons, and hopefully I can continue that success.
“I came up a couple of weeks ago and went into training. It has been a tough few weeks with the mid-season break, but we have been working hard and getting a lot of fitness and conditioning under our belts.”
