Mbokazi resolved

South Africa assistant coach Helman Mkhalele has revealed that the issue between defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi and Hugo Broos has been ‘resolved.’

Head coach Broos lambasted 20-year-old defender Mbokazi for late arrival in camp at the University of Pretoria’s High Performance Centre on Tuesday.

Bafana Bafana are preparing for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) set to be hosted by Morocco from December 22 to January 18.

Broos criticised Mbokazi for “unprofessional attitude”, disclosing that the new Chicago Fire player missed the flight from Durban to Johannesburg on Tuesday and arrived a day later in camp.

“I won’t go to the actual what you call, each and every point. But I’d say that issue has been resolved,” Mkhalele said.

“Because it is important for us to make sure that we resolve issues like that in order to make sure again that we continue with our preparations.

“So the issue of Mbokazi has been settled.”

South Africa are scheduled to play an international friendly match against Ghana on Tuesday before they travel to Morocco the following day.

Bafana will square off with Angola (December 22), Egypt (December 26) and Zimbabwe (December 29) in Group B matches in Morocco.
