Kaizer Chiefs co-head coach Cedric Kaze has revealed Mfundo Vilakazi’s weakness as he indicated that ‘people’ can ‘run over’ the teenage sensation.
The 19-year-old right-winger started and netted his first goal of the season as Amakhosi claimed an emphatic 4-1 win over Orbit College in Tuesday’s Betway Premiership encounter.
Kaze pointed out that he was happy with Vilakazi’s contributions, but he also stressed that the South Africa international can also be buillied on the due to his small physique.
“Vilakazi is one of the players that has a lot of room for progression; he is only 19 years old,” Kaze told reporters.
“Sometimes technical players tend to rely only on that aspect that they have, but this is the PSL; it is very physical, and people will run over you.
“It is an area that we wanted him to improve on because at some point you can go forward, but you need to keep and use the ball,” the Burundian tactician added.
“And we know that he can make a difference in the last 30 meters of the opponents’ box, and he is good at that.
“But we want him to be a player that can hold the ball and challenge and defend better and do more than he is doing.”
Chiefs’ next game is against Magesi FC at the Seshego Stadium in the Betway Premiership on November 18.
