Kaizer Chiefs head coach Fernando Da Cruz rued costly errors after Amakhosi twice fought back in Wednesday’s Betway Premiership clash.
The Natal Rich Boys led 2-1 at half-time through Nqaba Xulu’s brace before the Amakhosi snatched a 2-2 draw at Princess Magogo Stadium, where Lebohang Maboe and Siphesihle Ndlovu scored for Chiefs.
The dropped points left Chiefs third, two behind joint leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.
“Yes, we conceded that goal but after we continued to play well,” Da Cruz said.
“We made a good first half, but we made too much gifts to the opponents and we lost two much points… it’s not normal to concede two goals like that when we play this type of football.”
Praising the bench, the Frenchman added: “Our substitute’s player when they come in, they make a very good job… we don’t need eleven players but we need a complete squad.”
Before insisting, “We lost two points today because we made a very good game and we were better than the opponent. It’s not that the opponent were better, but we made too much mistakes.”
Chiefs next host Siwelele FC in the Betway Premiership on Saturday, September 5, at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg.
