Roger De Sa believes that Patrick Maswanganyi could earn fortunes while playing in Bahrain after Pirates agreed terms with Alkhaldiya Sports Club for his exit earlier this week.
In what was news that created a buzz in South African football media in the last couple of days, Patrick Maswanganyi joined Alkhaldiya Sports Club in the Bahrain Premier League on Monday with Roger De Sa supportive of his decision.
The 28-year-old will reportedly earn life-changing money in Bahrain, given the strength of the Bahraini Dinar compared to the South African Rand.
De Sa, a former Pirates coach, thus urged Tito to ‘look after himself’ and invest his earnings appropriately.
“The type of money you can make in those countries, hopefully he invests it well and looks after himself,” De Sa told Kick-Off.
“Hopefully he doesn’t get taken in by some shocker agents, who take most of this money away; hopefully he looks after himself.
“Look, it’s a short career, so the guy, obviously, he’s got to enjoy himself but also prepare for his future. If he retires at 35 and has a life expectancy of at least 75, he’s got another 40 years to look after himself.
“So, he’s got to make the most of it.”
