Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou remained tight-lipped on Patrick Maswanganyi’s absence amid growing exit talks and unconfirmed links to Rhulani Mokwena’s Pyramids FC.
The attacking midfielder, confirmed fit and available for selection, was left out for non-tactical reasons during the 1-0 MTN8 semi-final win over Sekhukhune United as speculation mounts over his long-term future at the club and possible interest from the Egyptian side.
With rumours swirling around a potential departure, attention now turns to whether Maswanganyi will feature when the two sides meet again in a Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday.
“For the other player [Patrick Maswanganyi], I can not say too much about the issue,” Ouaddou told reports.
“He’s not injured. He was available but just can not speak about something that I don’t masterise in.”
Maswanganyi’s future at Pirates remains unresolved amid ongoing exit talks and links to Pyramids, with Ouaddou offering no clarity on the South Africa international’s situation.
Both sides will next face each other in a Betway Premiership clash at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, where Maswanganyi’s availability will be closely watched.
