Elvis Chipezeze recently opened up on Magesi’s relegation to the first division, labelling the feeling as a ‘failure’.
Magesi goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze revealed that he has been left ‘heart-broken’ after the club was relegated to the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Following a 15th place finish in the Betway Premiership last season, Magesi was reduced to battling it out with Milford and Cape Town City in the PSL Promotion/Relegation play-offs for a place in the top flight.
In the end, it was Milford who topped the mini round-robin table, with Magesi falling short alongside Cape Town City, with the latter set for another season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
With Magesi set to compete in South Africa’s first division, the goalkeeper thus described the feeling of relegation as the worst he ever endured.
“I have suffered the feeling of failure. It is awful and my heart is broken”, Chipezeze said according to New Zimbabwe, as per Kick-off.
“There is no worse feeling than fighting until the end and falling short. It is not a good feeling.
“Now it’s time to reflect and come back stronger.”
