Mamelodi Sundowns defender Keanu Cupido expressed that he will be honoured to represent that Bafana Bafana national team at the upcoming FIFA World Cup campaign.
Cupido, who joined Sundowns from Cape Town City during the January transfer window and has since gone onto earning fan-favourite status among the Tshwane-giants support base.
Now though, given his gliterring displays in both the PSL and CAF Champions League, Cupido mentioned that he will face stern competition among the backline players considered by coach Hugo Broos.
“It’s up to the coach [Hugo Broos] to choose the team. If I do get chosen, I’ll be honoured, and if I don’t, I’ll be happy for the other guys that are going to the World Cup,” Cupido said, as per FarPost.
“You know, as a country, there is a lot of talent as well.
“If I do get an opportunity, I’ll really be honoured to represent the national team.”
