Jayden Adams has likened Mamelodi Sundowns team-mate Brayan Leon to Swedish icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his relentless attitude.
Leon has made a huge impact at Chloorkop since his arrival from Independiente Medellin in January, scoring 15 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for the Brazilians.
The Colombian bagged back-to-back braces in Masandawana’s final two Betway Premiership outings against Siwelele and TS Galaxy to finish on 10 goals for the season, just three behind top scorer Junior Dion of Golden Arrows.
Adams, who was suspended for the 3-2 defeat to the Rockets on Tuesday which dented Bafana Ba Style’s league title hopes, sees shades of Ibrahimovic in Leon’s approach to the game as the 25-year-old striker never gives up on a ball.
“Brayan is a fighter. He’s like Ibrahimovic, fights for every ball,” Adams said.
“He presses for everything. He will make a bad pass into a good one, and you know the qualities he adds to our team – it’s just incredible.”
Miguel Cardoso’s side have one last chance to finish the campaign with silverware when they face AS FAR in the CAF Champions League final, with the first leg taking place at Loftus Versfeld on Sunday.
