Dylan Kerr believes that Miguel Cardoso should own the challenge of competing on all fronts as Sundowns hope to find success in both the PSL and CAF Champions League.
Former Marumo Gallants mentor Dylan Kerr expressed that Miguel Cardoso should stop complaining about Mamelodi Sundowns congested fixture list, given his side’s quality in depth.
The Brazilian’s coach previously lamented Sundowns’ heavy fixture list in both local and continental competition and claimed that fatigue could plague his side later on in the 2025/26 campaign.
According to Kerr, teams in Europe have it worse and that during his time with Gallants, he had no choice but to face the workload in front of him.
“Cardoso should stop complaining about the fixture schedule, because it’s worse in Europe and nobody is complaining in Europe, he’s got to stop using that as an excuse,” Kerr told Soccer Laduma.
“You know I never used it as an excuse when Gallants played in the CAF Confederation Cup, we travelled everywhere, three games a week and he’s (Cardoso) complaining with the squad that he’s got and the players he’s got.
“Deal with the pressure, that’s your job, that’s what you’re paid for, that’s why you’re there. He’s got no pressure, look at the pressure I had at Gallants, I sat in the stands for six months.
“I could not sit on the bench, my players went on strike, they threw away the Premiership status.”
