Ouaddou’s Fiery Pledge

Orlando Pirates head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou has issued a bold declaration of intent in the race for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership title.

The French-Moroccan tactician was speaking after Wednesday’s 1-0 over Richards Bay FC, which elevated the Buccaneers to the top of the standings.

Ouaddou vowed that his side will fight relentlessly until the final whistle of the season as they look to win the league championship for the first time since 2012.

“Difficult game again, difficult game, I can tell you that for me the most consistent teams that we faced this season were Richards Bay and Siwelele, so another tough game,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV.

“But if you want to champion, you need to go through that team to try to take points and win because it will be difficult.

“We know that the PSL is a very strong league, very good teams. If you want to be champions, you definitely have to go and win that game. Everyone is dreaming of being champions, and we are fighting with wanting to be champions,” he added.

“It’s a passion in the PSL and we are going to fight until the last minute. I can promise that we are going to die on the pitch and to believe until the last second.”

Pirates have a prime chance to pull clear at the top of the Betway Premiership this Saturday with a home win over Siwelele FC, as second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns sit out due to their CAF Champions League quarter-final clash against Stade Malien on Friday.
