Itumeleng Khune praises PSL leaders

Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star Itumeleng Khune believes that Dr Irvin Khoza and Dr Kaizer Motaung have made great strides in putting the PSL among top attractions in African football.

Khune, who was believed to be a top earner himself during his playing days, is of the thought that the likes of Khoza and Motaung have been ‘carrying’ South African football and that they need to get a return on their investments.

“Let’s give credit where it’s due, Dr Irvin Khoza and Dr Kaizer Motaung are the ones who are carrying the PSL,” Khune said on ENCA’s Beyond Game Day, as per Hollywood Bets.

“They are the ones who are carrying South African football, and they are the ones who are making sure that footballers get paid well.

“We also need to thank the sponsors who are investing heavily in football, and they must get a return on investment.

“That’s why we are here as former players to say, ‘You know what, I used to play, please use me in any campaign that you want me on.’

“And you can see that it’s not one person or one company that made the PSL what it is today. It’s a team effort, and everyone played a role.”
