Polokwane City head coach Phuti Mohafe believes Orlando Pirates won’t win the Betway Premiership title after their narrow win over his side in midweek.
The local tactician was not impressed after Rise and Shine lost 2-1 to the Buccaneers, and he made a bold claim that if the Bucs continue playing at the level they showed in the match at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“I don’t see them winning the championship if they play the way they played today,” Mohafe told Goal Mzansi.
“I am not sure — maybe our tactical approach was spot on, maybe we planned very well for them … they struggled with us today.
“But with the performance they gave today, I don’t see them becoming the champs.”
The victory kept Pirates at the top of the Betway Premiership table, level on 44 points with Mamelodi Sundowns but ahead on superior goal difference (+23 vs +22).
The Buccaneers have turned their attention to hosting Richards Bay at Orlando Amstel Arena on March 11.
