TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic could receive a welcome boost with the revelation that FIFA is expected to lift the club’s transfer ban next week.
The Rockets have been unable to register new signings Tshepo Kakora and Sedwyn George due to a three-window suspension imposed on them by world football’s governing body in December.
The matter relates to a contractual dispute with Liberian midfielder Jegbay Morris Konneh, who was set to join Galaxy in the off-season but he failed to be granted a work permit.
Konneh then opened legal proceedings against the Mpumalanga outfit despite having never played for Beganovic’s side, claiming he was owed six months’ salary.
However, Beganovic stated that Galaxy have settled the outstanding payment with the player and are waiting for confirmation from FIFA of the transfer ban’s removal.
“Last information that I have, we removed one FIFA ban, and then we pay also, at the same time for another guy, it’s Jegbay in Liberia,” the Bosnian said.
“But you know how FIFA reacts, you need to pay, and then you need to wait, another side receives the money, and then he needs to confirm with FIFA, and then FIFA removes the ban.
“I think next week we can expect to remove all the bans that we have, and then the second ban, and then I think we have a right to register, we have already registered four players.
“But we wait, and then I think also we can have more players on the bench, and better quality, especially in the middle of the players, Tshepo is there from Magesi, and then also George from Royal AM, and then two young players.
“I think it will be good for us to register all players, and then it’s one and only goal to finish between eight clubs this season.”
