A Sundowns technical team figure is currently under investigation over leaked tactical and training information.
In what has been news making headlines in South African football media during the last 24 hours, it’s been reported that a ‘long serving’ technical team member has been ‘suspended’ after alleged team leaks.
According to well-known South African football journalist, Lorenz Kohler, a long-serving figure at the club has leaked crucial club information, as well as access codes for data platforms.
The shocking revelation was made in the wake of the Tshwane-giant’s crucial CAF Champions League game against MC Alger on Saturday, a game in which the club need to win in order to advance to the next phase of the tournament.
As it stands, Sundowns are third in Group C, one point ahead of Alger who are in second position, while log leaders Al-Hilal are two points clear of Masandawana.
“A long-serving member of the Mamelodi Sundowns technical team has been suspended amidst allegations of leaking team tactics and information,” Kohler reported on X, for iDiski Times.
Amid investigation, Downs coach Miguel Cardoso expressed that he hopes for a fair contest this weekend.
“We need only one thought, support the team, not anything more, I hope the opponent doesn’t guess, or know how we’re going to play, I hope it’s controlled so that we can have a fair game on our side,” Cardoso said according to the publication.
