Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) head coach Lucky Nelakau has claimed that facing Orlando Pirates felt like ‘chasing a crocodile in the river’ in Saturday’s Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash.
The ABC Motsepe League (Limpopo) side were thumped 4-1 by the Betway Premiership log leaders in an encounter played at the 2010 FIFA World Cup venue Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Goals from Andre De Jong, Thalente Mbatha, Patrick Maswanganyi and Sipho Mbule earned the Buccaneers the win and Sthembiso Ngobe netted Vhadau vha Damani’s consolation goal.
“I’m happy with the performance against the best team,” Nelakau told Goal Mzansi.
“Mind you, it was like chasing a crocodile in the river—it was not easy at all. “But remember, I used nine or ten young players, so I’m happy to give them an opportunity. It was good experience for them.”a
“We were lucky it ended at four—it could have been six or seven. But overall, I’m happy with the performance.”
Pirates joined fellow Premiership clubs Mamelodi Sundowns, Durban City, Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United in the Round of 16.
