Amakhosi’s alterations

Kaizer Chiefs co-coach Khalil Ben Youssef noted that the Soweto giants needed to make changes to their game during their 1-0 win over Zesco United in the CAF Confederations Cup at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday.

With Chiefs picking up their first win in Group D, the Glamour Boys are now on four points after three matches played, three away from table toppers Al Masry.

According to Ben Youssef, Chiefs put on a good performance despite playing on a tricky pitch.

“As we expected, it was a difficult game,” Ben Youssef said after the match, as per Kick-Off.

“When we made our training session on the pitch yesterday (Saturday), we discovered that the pitch is so difficult to play football on.

“So, for that, we had to manage how we play different football, you know that we are a technical team.

“With this kind of pitch, it is dangerous to play football because with each ball, you have to make three or four (touches) to control and then you can play. We are so happy with the result.

“I know the performance wasn’t so good because we played different football than our football.”
