Siwelele has announced that the club is in advanced talks with Belgian First Division B side K. Beerschot V.A. over the potential transfer of starlet Siviwe Magidigidi.
The club announced that talks were underway in a statement released by the Bloemfontein club’s CEO Lerato Kholoanyane on Monday.
In the statement, Kholoanyane revealed that the Belgian club approached Siwelele for the attacker in late 2025, but the Betway Premiership outfit did not believe the offer received matched the player’s value.
Despite this, it is clear that Magidigidi is keen on the move to Europe.
“However, through ongoing conversations, it became clear that the player was eager to test himself internationally and embrace a new chapter abroad,” reads the statement.
The club clearly does not want to stand in the way of Magidigi’s ambitions and development, which could accelerate in a different environment.
“We have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity. When Beerschot significantly improved their offer, more than doubling their initial one, the deal became acceptable and aligned with the best interests of Siwelele FC.”
The statement expressly says that the transfer is not yet concluded, but the two parties are “in the process of concluding negotiations”.
The 20-year-old striker missed out on the nation’s CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in May, but impressed at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in October, helping Amajita reach the knockout stage for the first time in history. He scored two goals in four appearances at the tournament, both of which came in South Africa’s 5-0 win over New Caledonia.
The youngster has made 12 appearances in Siwelele’s 15 games in the 2025/26 Betway Premiership, scoring four goals and providing one assist.
Kholoanyane acknowledged Magidigidi’s talent and potential in a heartfelt thank you and goodbye, despite the move not yet confirmed.
“At only 20 years old, Magididigi’s potential is enormous. We have no doubt that Belgian defenders will soon be experiencing exactly the kind of trouble he caused across the PSL. We are proud of him, we are grateful to him, and we look forward to watching his journey unfold.”
