Bafana Bafana legend Shaun Bartlett believes that Kaizer Chiefs’ inconsistency has been their biggest downfall during the 2025/26 season.
Kaizer Chiefs capped off their weekend with a frustrating 0-0 draw alongside TS Galaxy in the Betway Premiership on Sunday, a result Bartlett believes will hinder the Soweto Giant’s progress this season.
As it stands, Chiefs occupy fourth place on the table and have now recorded three draws and two wins in their last five league ties.
According to Bartlett, Chiefs have not identified their best XI yet and often go ‘off track’ amid a decent spell of results.
“Yeah, you know when I think about Kaizer Chiefs it’s only one word that comes to mind. Every time I speak about them it’s inconsistency,” Bartlett told IOL.
“They give you that little bit of hope of winning two games, and then suddenly they go a bit off track and they struggle for form again. So I think that that is the biggest challenge they have at this moment in time.
“Also inconsistency in the selection of players because they never find their strongest 11 in order to sustain, or to keep them going.
“So it’s a problem.”
