While a late goal by in-form Bradley Grobler earned log leaders Sekhukhune United a 1-0 victory over Golden Arrows in Polokwane, where Babina Noko made it three wins in a row in the league.
The two results saw Sekhukhune consolidate their top spot in the standings – a point above second-placed Sundowns, who are now five points clear of third-placed Kaizer Chiefs as Amakhosi were in action in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC find themselves placed 13th in the standings after registering a third consecutive defeat when they lost to Richards Bay 1-0 in the Winelands, thanks to Siyabonga Nzama’s goal.
In Polokwane, Magesi exerted more pressure on under-fire coach Lehlohonolo Seema as Dikwena Tsa Meetse secured a 2-0 victory over Siwelele FC, who registered a fifth defeat of the season.
A match between Orbit College and Marumo Gallants failed to produce a winner, as the two teams drew 1-1 after Sekela Sithole scored to cancel out Thuso Moleleki’s opener in Rustenburg.
The last game of the weekend saw Polokwane City move up to the fourth spot in the standings after claiming a 2-1 win over Chippa United in Limpopo, where Thabang Matululdi grabbed a late winner.
