Mamelodi Sundowns star Aubrey Modiba has urged his teammates to let ‘the games begin’, as the Brazilians hope to challenge on all fronts this season.
With Orlando Pirates reigning supreme in the Betway Premiership last time out, Sundowns thus missed the chance to record their ninth-consecutive league title in the process. As a silver lining, Downs went on to secure their second CAF Champions League crown following a gruelling campaign both locally and continentally.
In assessment of their preparations so far, Modiba thus believes that Sundowns have to return to their dominant ways in the Betway Premiership.
“We want to win the league again,” said Modiba, as per iDiski Times.
“The feeling was not nice losing the league cause some of us have never experienced that.
“We want to go back of winning the league every season because you win it, you go back to the Champions League.
“And we always want to do well in the Champions League, get our gold badge back.
“But congratulations to Pirates, they deserve it and we go again this season, another marathon that we know very well how to run, let the games begin.”
