South African star Gift Links has committed his long-term future to Aarhus GF by signing a new five-year contract extension, locking him down until June 2031.
The wing-back-cum-winger became a hot commodity in the transfer market after helping AGF Aarhus clinch the 2025/26 Danish Superliga title, providing five assists and scoring three goals.
RC Lens were keen to sign Links after finishing second in the French Ligue 1 behind champions Paris Saint-Germain during the 2025/26 campaign.
“Look, obviously there is interest in Gift,” Links’ agent, Paul Mitchell told African Football or GOAL Mzansi’s Austin Ditlhobolo.
“However, AGF made it clear that they are not selling him because he is a big part of their plans for the next five years and even beyond his playing career.
“Gift decided to stay as he loves the club and the city. He has committed his future to AGF. This new contract is a reward for his loyalty.”
Since joining AGF from Cape Town City in 2019, the left-footed player has scored 19 goals and provided 24 assists in 211 matches.
