Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso delivered a fiery rant, admitting his team feels isolated and unsupported just days before the massive CAF Champions League final against AS FAR.
The Portuguese tactician dropped a bombshell, claiming AS FAR received wide-angle video footage of Sundowns’ game against Kaizer Chiefs the very next day, suggesting they are fighting hidden forces and unfair obstacles.
Yet Cardoso remained defiant, insisting his side is strong enough to overcome every challenge on their road to glory.
“Absolutely, I think we’re in a very discomfort of situation when you have to think that after that match in four days, you’re going be playing one of the important games that can be played in a football player, coach or club’s life and we don’t feel any support on it,” Cardoso told Goal Mzansi.
“I can tell you one thing people will maybe not accept what I’m going to say, but ASFAR on the following day we played Kaizer Chiefs had a wide angled video from our game delivered I know because someone saw so we’re fighting against a lot of things but we’re strong enough to deal with everything.”
The final between Sundowns and AS FAR will be played over two legs: the first leg on 17 May 2026, in Pretoria, and the second leg on 24 May 2026, in Rabat.
Sundowns are also locked in a tense Betway Premiership title fight with Orlando Pirates, currently leading the table but facing intense pressure as both sides battle for domestic glory in the final weeks of the season.
