Sebelebele happy

Orlando Pirates rising star Kamogelo Sebelebele has opened up about his start to life at the club as he approaches his return from injury.

The 23-year-old joined Pirates from TS Galaxy at the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

It took Sebelebele only three appearances to endear himself to the Pirates faithful, scoring in the 87th minute of the Buccaneers’ MTN8 semi-final first leg clash with Mamelodi Sundowns at Orlando Stadium.

He went on to net in his next two games and has proven to be a versatile player for the Soweto giants, looking comfortable as both a winger and wing-back.

Sebelebele last played on 28 October in the Buccaneer’s 2-1 win over Magesi in the Carling Knockout, coming off the bench in the 91st minute for Tshepang Moremi.

He suffered a knee injury in Pirates’ previous game against Polokwane City on 22 October and was subbed-off in the 72nd minute.

He has missed his club’s last six fixtures as he undergoes rehabilitation.

Speaking to iDiski Times, the player expressed his pride in his start at Pirates and revealed he is enjoying life as a Buccaneer.

“I am happy and proud of myself so far because I’ve been doing well,” Sebelebele said.

“Unfortunately, I got injured, but I will come back [stronger]. Besides the injury, I am happy with everything here at Pirates. The technical team and the management are very supportive. And what’s good is that even as players, we are supportive of each other in spite of us being in competition for starting places.”

The player is targeting a return to the pitch in late January.
