Bafana Bafana starlet Mbekezeli Mbokazi has been slapped with a fine and a one-match suspension by FIFA for his red card against Zimbabwe on 10 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
South Africa were held to a 0-0 draw with Zimbabwe at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in their second last FIFA World Cup qualifier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mbokazi, who started the game, was handed a first yellow card in the fifth minute of stoppage time before picking up a second just two minutes later after an altercation with a Zimbabwean player. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The global football governing body has issued the 20-year-old with a one match ban, which is standard for any player who receives a red card in international competition, as well as a fine of 5000 Swiss Francs, which equates to around R106 000. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident cited by the organisations was \u201cMisconduct of players and officials, unsporting behaviour towards an opponent or a person other than a match official.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ruling was published in FIFA\u2019s Disciplinary Review for October\u2019s round of FIFA World Cup qualifiers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
