Kaizer Chiefs coach Fernando Da Cruz was not afraid to criticise his team despite their victory over Siwelele FC on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The Amakhosi returned to winning form yesterday by defeating Siwelele 3-2 in a Betway Premiership match at the Dobsonville Stadium, featuring strikes from Mfundo Vilakazi, Wandile Duba and Faiz Abrahams (with the last credited as an own goal by goalkeeper Samukelo Xulu).<\/p>\n
Da Cruz was unhappy with his side\u2019s lack of control in the match, feeling that they both missed out on chances to kill the game off earlier, and also conceded too many opportunities to their opponents \u2013 arguing that they need stronger characters and leadership on the field.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the first half, we created a lot of chances, but we didn\u2019t score enough and in the second half we had two chances and score two goals, so we have an issue about that. We need to work a lot on our defensive part to not give chances to the opponent,\u201d Da Cruz told SuperSport.<\/p>\n
The tactician added, \u201cWe created a lot of chances, but we didn\u2019t score so after that you can make mistakes because you\u2019re not enough killer in the two boxes as either offensively and defensively.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a lack of leadership, lack of character in our defensive line, a lack of personality in our defensive line so we need to correct that and work a lot.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor sure, we need to recover players from our defensive line but also for our offensive line. Today [Langelihle] Phili and Flavio [da Silva] was there so when everyone comes back we will have more options for the starting line-up.\u201d<\/p>\n
