TS Galaxy head coach Adnan Beganovic has admitted he may have to drop Ira Tape after the goalkeeper’s poor decision-making cost his team again last weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Rockets saw their poor run of form in the Betway Premiership continue with a 2-0 defeat to Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium on Sunday which left them winless in nine games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Amakhosi were 1-0 up at the time when Tape came racing way out of his area to intercept Glody Lilepo, who easily knocked the ball past him into an open net in the 74th minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ivorian also conceded a goal in similar fashion against Orbit College last month when Galaxy were trailing 1-0 as well, and Beganovic acknowledges his rash judgement is making life difficult for his team-mates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tape has been ever-present in goal for Beganovic’s side this season, keeping five clean sheets in 24 appearances while shipping 33 goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s not the first time… I think it’s the second or third time. The keeper (Tape) goes out without reason and then he leaves an empty goal behind him and we concede the goal. After that the game was finished… it was difficult to come back,” Beganovic said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It was also against Orbit College in Mbombela when he left the line and we conceded the second goal and it was also difficult to come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I think now everything is mental… some players can handle pressure and some can’t. We will sit with him and analyse everything and explain to him what he needs to do in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“When he leaves the goal, he needs to be 100 per cent sure that he can kick that ball out. Obviously it’s difficult to explain why he did it again or we need to find another solution in goal… to try something that will be better for the team.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
